Where Science Meets Storytelling
Dr. Pamela Cappetta has dedicated over four decades to helping people — young and old — find calm, connection, and clarity. Her private psychotherapy practice in Williamsburg, Virginia, has been a sanctuary for families navigating the complexities of modern life since 1985.
Her journey to authorship began with a simple observation: children needed a bridge between the clinical tools of mindfulness and the world of wonder they already lived in. That bridge became Mindful Moments with Maude — a book as personal as it is purposeful, inspired by her own beloved Australian Shepherd.
Holding a doctorate from The College of William & Mary and a certificate in Mindfulness from Duke Integrative Medicine, Dr. Cappetta brings academic rigor and heartfelt compassion to everything she creates. Her work has been embraced by parents, educators, counselors, and — most importantly — children.
When she's not writing or seeing clients, you'll find her outdoors with animals, practicing the very mindfulness she teaches — present, unhurried, and deeply grateful for each moment.
Mindfulness is not something we do only on a cushion. It lives in the feel of grass beneath our feet, the sound of a dog sighing beside us, and the courage to simply be still.
